This page for Daniel Witcher is a work in progress, as we piece together this man’s life.
Most are certain this Daniel Witcher, who died around 1815, in Smith County, Tennessee, was the same Daniel Witcher who was listed in the 1767, Pittsylvania County tithable list. This particular Daniel Witcher was not Daniel Witcher, Jr., the son of Major William Witcher of Pittsylvania County, but was a close kin to William. That relationship has yet to be proven.
As research material is gathered, I will post to this page. Until then, much information can be gleaned from an article that discusses the life of this Daniel Witcher. The article can be assessed by clicking here. From this article one can access information about Daniel's wife, Suzanna, and other points of interest, such as Daniel's back-and-forth migration to Montgomery County, Virginia.
